Today I want to share a fun Mine on Monday, in a day in the life format. You see I’ve been doing these Mine on Monday posts since I started my biz – almost 9 years ago!!! Crazy how fast time flies. Anyway, as you can imagine 9 years ago my crew were just little ones. The twins were just over a year and Emma was 3. Those of you who are quick at math can figure out, that I now have a house full of tweens. Emma is about to turn 12 and the twins will be 10! As I am typing this, I still can hardly believe it’s true.
Life in our house now looks nothing like it did back in 2008. First, one obvious reason is, we have moved and we are now in a much larger home. Each of us has our own room and space to breathe. But most of all we are in a completely different season of our lives now. Gone are the days of diaper changes, naps, and toys strewn across all the floors. Instead most days you will find our kids curled up comfy in their rooms with some kind of electronic device. Well, not always, but quite a bit anyway.
As you can imagine, finding time for family activities is something we try to make a priority on the weekends. Cooking or baking together, playing cards or a board game or even just watching a movie together. Anything that puts us all together for a good chunk of time I consider a win. Because during the week, our days are so full and busy. With meals to make, school & work to get ready for, homework, sports and chores it seems like there really isn’t much time left. Although, during the week we do have one family priority we never miss, and that’s family dinner. Even if it’s just for 20 minutes, we stop, eat together and share our day. Dinner, although not fancy, is always a scared time for us.
This past weekend we had a rare FREE weekend. The whole family was home, we had no plans, no place to be, and no schedule. It was blissful. Since I had the time, I figured it would be fun to do a day in the life type photo series to capture it. So without further ado, here is a peek at our life as it is right now.
***Disclaimer: all the images were taken with my cell phone by both the kids & I. I was too lazy to drag out the big camera. It was my weekend off after all. LOL!***
