Mr. B {5 weeks old}

This morning I had the chance to cuddle the adorable Mr. B. What a sweetie pie and so good, he barely fussed our whole time together. Not to mention, I had fun hanging out with his mom & grand mom. Thank you all for a nice morning. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Holiday Mini Sessions {Day Two}

Yesterday was day two of my annual holiday mini sessions. The weather was good, a bit chilly but really not bad for this time of year. And the light, the sweet fall light was perfect for shooting. Thank you all so much to all the wonderful families for coming out and making for such a fun day! Also, I’d like to say a BIG thanks to Krushefsky’s Tree Farm for hosting the day. If you haven’t already been there, you must go check out their huge selection of gorgeous trees, wreaths, garlands, log boxes and primitive collectible buildings and birdhouses. To find out more or just get directions click here.

Here’s a sneak peek our fun day! ***FYI, in an effort to not ruin any holiday card surprises I did not post any group/family pictures. (Even though I have LOTS of adorable ones!) Enjoy!

Happy Veteran’s Day! {OpLove Homecoming Session}

Happy Veteran’s Day to all who have served or continue to serve, we thank you! And what better way to say thanks than to photograph a homecoming. Yesterday, I had the privilege of photographing an OpLove homecoming for the “N” family. (If you aren’t familiar with OpLove you can find out more about this wonderful organization by clicking here.) Despite the pouring rain, spirits were  soaring as everyone anxiously awaited the arrival of their loved ones. The “N” family hadn’t seen their daddy in 6 long months! I have no idea how mom was able to mange all 4 boys on her own for such a long time. It really shows you the strength, courage and sacrifice these families endure. And makes you truly appreciate our freedom. Somehow thank you doesn’t quite seem enough, but please know how much you are truly appreciated!  Enjoy your sneak peek and welcome HOME!

The waiting, is the hardest part!

…in his arms at last!

Urban Family

This morning I had a super fun urban session with the B family. Mom was looking to do something a bit different this year and I am sure she’s going to be so happy she did! We had a gorgeous sunny and warm morning, making for a ideal session conditions. Not to mention they are gorgeous family. Oh and in the interest of not spoiling any holiday card surprises, I haven’t included any family pics, just in case. ;) Hope you enjoy these teasers for now!

Holiday Mini Sessions {Day One}

Yesterday was day one of my annual holiday mini sessions and what a great day we had! The weather and light was perfect for shooting. Not to mention I got to spend the day playing and hanging out with some adorable kiddos and their parents. Thank you all so much for coming out! Here’s a sneak peek at the day! ***FYI, in an effort to not ruin any holiday card surprises I did not post any group/family pictures. (Even though I have LOTS of adorable ones!) Enjoy!

Mr. B {CT Newborn Photographer}

This morning I got to snuggle the adorable Mr. B. At five days old, he is already such a sweetheart. He was so good for our session and didn’t mind me moving him too much, as long as he wasn’t on his back. Anyway, I also wanted to give a shout out to his beautiful mama and say thanks for having me. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

The “K” Kids

Saturday morning before storm Alfred ripped through the state, I had a fun but chilly session with the adorable “K” kids. We hung out on their beautiful property, took a stroll through the woods, threw some rocks in their stream and ended with hot chocolate and apples for a snack. It was such a nice morning. Thanks guys for patience with your sneak peek. Sorry it took so long. I still don’t have power but have now moved my office in an effort to get caught up! Anyway, hope you enjoy these. I’ll be in touch soon with the rest.

The “H” Family {CT Family Photographer}

This morning I had such a nice session with the entire H family. Scheduling these large family sessions can be a challenge, coordinating schedules and then factoring in weather make things tricky. In the end though, it is totally worth it. Today was no exception, the weather was perfect, our location was great and then add in a genuinely real family and you’ve got a all the makings of a wonderful session. Thank all, so much for making the effort this morning. It was such a pleasure working with you all. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

The “G” Kids {CT Children’s Photographer}

This morning I had a fun session with the G kids. The weather was perfect and the kids were great. You may remember these guys from a few years back, I’ve photographed them a couple times on their beautiful property. Well, their family just grew as they welcomed their third child about six months ago. (And what a cutie pie he is! ) Anyway, we headed out to a rustic location for some pictures of this newly expanded family today and had a blast. Thank you guys for a fun morning. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

P.S. Mom, no worries, I have lots of great shots of all three kids together but didn’t want to ruin any holiday card surprise. *wink* *wink*

Isn’t he handsome!

This expression totally cracks me up!

Beautiful Miss. G!

And I had to share this one of G and Mom! So sweet!

Blessed {CT Newborn Photographer}

This morning I was blessed to meet an amazing little man named Beckett and his wonderful family. At first glance, you’d look at him and see the perfectly adorable little man that he is and what a gift he is to his entire family. However, you need to hear his incredible story so you can completely understand just how amazing and special he truly is. And no one can tell his story better than his mom, so here in her words is a bit of his story.

——————————————————————————————–

Beckett arrived Friday, August 5th; a beautiful 5lbs. 6oz. Beckett is thought to have pyruvate carboxylase deficiency which is a mitochondrial/metabolic disorder. We won’t know for sure if this is his diagnosis until the blood test results and his skin biopsy come back from the lab (it takes 4-6 weeks for the results). PC deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disease (an estimated incidence of 1 in 250,000 births worldwide), with three distinct clinical presentations: Type A (“North Amerian” form) is found mostly in Native Americans and is discovered in infancy resulting in biochemical imbalances and severe retardation resulting in death in infancy or early childhood, Type B (“French” form)is the neonatal form found mostly in Europe (primarily France)and is discovered very early in life with severe biochemical imbalances and little to no neurological function resulting in death within the first three months of life, Type C is known as the benign form with mildly delayed neurological development and episodes of metabolic acidosis. Beckett is thought to have Type B, the most severe form, due to the fact that he presented in utero and at birth with symptoms of PC deficiency. PC deficiency results in malfunction of the citric acid cycle (this biochemical process derives energy from carbohydrates) and gluconeogenesis (produces carbohydrate fuel for the body when carbohydrate intake is low), thereby depriving the body of energy. Severe energy deficit causes neurologic symptoms and congenital brain malformations due to a lack of energy during neurogenesis. Basically, mutations in the PC gene reduce the amount of pyruvate carboxylase in cells or disrupt the enzyme’s activity. The missing or altered enzyme cannot carry out it’s essential role in generating glucose, which impairs the body’s ability to make energy in mitochondria. A loss of pyruvate carboxylase allows toxic levels of lactic acid and ammonia to build up and damage organs and tissues. We don’t know how much time we have with our beautiful son, but we would like to do as much with him as we can, as normally as possible. This is why we pushed so hard to get Beckett home from Children’s Hospital Boston. It has been a long road for us, but we are finally home (we arrived Thursday, October 13th). We are enjoying our time together as a family, and loving every moment that we get to spend with our two children. If you would like to follow our family’s progress, please go to Care Pages and search for BEGauvin. It’s free, you just have to create a user name and password.
Love,
Allison xoxo

Thank you guys for opening your home and your hearts to me this morning. I feel so very fortunate to have captured this special time for you all. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Told ya, isn’t he just adorable!

Seriously adorable, from his head to his sweet toes!

The whole amazing family!

Did I mention, I kinda fell in love with his big sister J.

This one actually made me break down in tears when I saw it. The way B is looking at sweet J, holding his hand.

Their bond is so strong!

And lastly, I had to share this sweet kiss, J is such a great big sister!
